BUILDING THE CULTURE OF LIFE AND RECOVERING AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY THROUGH GOODNESS, TRUTH & BEAUTY
If you’ve been to one of our conferences over the past five years, there’s a pretty good chance that you have heard Brendan Malone speaking about cultural or ethical issues.
He’s the director of LifeNET, the Christian ministry which, 13 years ago, co-founded the ACTIV8 Pro-Life Training Week – an event which he now runs every year in conjunction with Focus on the Family NZ and Voice For Life NZ.
We value the contribution that Brendan has made to Thinking Matters over the years, and we know that he champions our important work in his many speaking engagements around New Zealand each year.
In our opinion, Brendan is one of New Zealand’s most gifted and engaging communicators on life issues such as abortion and euthanasia. He has the ability to speak compelling truths about these profoundly important topics in a way which is as compassionate as it is reasoned.
We share an important goal with Brendan – to see more Kiwis empowered to be able to speak with an authentically Christian voice about the sacredness of human life which is why I am emailing to recommend the ACTIV8 Pro-Life Training Week to you.
ACTIV8 is a five day live-in event (Monday to Friday) where you get to learn and be equipped along with a community of other great people from all over Aotearoa New Zealand. Participants hear from Brendan Malone and other top speakers about issues like abortion, euthanasia, eugenics, crisis-pregnancy care, post-abortion care, media, politics, and lots, lots more!
This isn’t your typical pro-life event though, because it takes a deep dive into the worldviews behind the ethical issues it tackles. In a nutshell, ACTIV8 is about equipping people with a strong understanding of the various secular ideologies and philosophies which have shaped the current cultural thinking about ethics and the value of human life.
Even more importantly, it empowers participants to live out an authentic counterculture of Christian goodness, truth and beauty which respects the sanctity of every human life, and it equips them with practical tools to care for people in need and engage confidently with others about these issues.
In the words of one former ACTIV8 participant: “ACTIV8 has been an absolutely amazing week! I learned so much and met some amazing people. I Would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in being a more effective voice for the voiceless.”
Everyone from ordinary Kiwis, to politicians, to lawyers, to doctors, to teachers, to nurses, to pastors and Church leaders, to university students, to mums and dads have been inspired and empowered by attending ACTIV8 over the past 13 years.
This year it could be your turn!
